"Dip Your Toe In Code" is an expanded version of our Intensive, "Code Your Own Game".
After learning the basics of JavaScript (the coding language of the Web), students choose what game to code, as individuals or in teams, and get help. They also join an online coding course they can continue with on their own.
I teachDigital Literacy and Computer Science at Renaissance. and help get student computers fixed. My 11th grade Computer Science course (which DYTIC is a preview for) prepares students to pass the AP Computer Science A course in 12th grade. It draws from a flowcharting and JavaScript games sequence I've developed in past years.
I am offering DYTIC at Springfield Renaissance to recruit students for the 11th grade course, so 10th graders get first preference.
If coding sounds hard, well, it is hard. That's because you make over $150/hour when you get good. Start learning now, when you're young and have a neuro-plastic brain!
